About Us

Antivirus Against Dropping Out Foundation is a non-profit organization that

Seeks to reduce the levels of student desertion in Colombia by implementing different strategies that allow finding possible alternative solutions to a severe problem: dropout rates of the universities. Considering education as a cross-cutting axis for social development and dropout rates as a problem that fosters inequality in access to opportunities, 2018 our Foundation arises from the need to accompany students in scenarios of academic, economic, and socioemotional vulnerabilities that affect the possibility of succeeding in their training process, working in favor of achieving a country with more education and consequently with more development.

Theory of Change

Identify vulnerable students and fully accompany them, through an ecosystem of strategies focused on academic, economic, and socio-emotional aspects for permanence.

Mission

Increase the graduation rates of students from careers and programs in technology areas, through strategies to promote retention and dropout prevention.

Vision

In 5 years we will have a national presence, in the 10 best universities in the country, where we will have reduced the dropout rate by 10 percentage points (from 50 to 40%).

In addition, we are going to be replicating a model that is a benchmark, whose success can be measured qualitatively and quantitatively.

Purpose

Build a prosperous, peaceful, harmonious, technological and competitive country, in which all young people have access to education and are good human beings,

with goals and empowered in their lives. And thanks to this, we will be able to overcome poverty and become a benchmark for development.

Values

At the Antivirus Against Drop Out Foundation we do our work collaboratively, with passion, integrity, autonomy, empathy, commitment and camaraderie. We are supportive and innovative and have a great dedication to service.

Target Audience

We work with students of IT careers and Middle and Post-secondary Education programs. We focus our intervention on students who are vulnerable to dropping out.

Priorities

  • Consolidate a model with processes for identifying vulnerabilities, intervention and result indicators.
  • Explore intervention models from schools to contribute to reducing dropout in higher education.
  • Meet and involve other actors in the work for permanence (Principals, Deans, MEN, Companies, among others).
  • Help to reduce dropout rates at other universities and programs to refine our model and generate income that contributes to the sustainability of the Antivirus Foundation.
